Classes

Block Riffs

Start with a traditional quilt block and play with it to design your own quilt—be it modern or with a more traditional vibe—that doesn’t look like the original block. If you want to design your own quilts but don’t quite know where to start, or if you want a little bit of guidance and structure to get your quilt creativity (Quiltivity?) moving, this is the class for you.

You’ll use such techniques as slice, dice, slip and slide, Swap Meet, Pull a Block Out of a Hat, to start on your quiltivity adventure. In short, we’re going to do some exploring and playing, and having some fun with designing.

This is a design class, rather than a sewing class, so you won’t need a sewing machine or fabric. You WILL want to bring:
* a pencil and eraser
*a black fine liner (such as Micron) or pen; a ball point or gel is fine—you just want to be able to easily see it through tracing paper
*a few colored pencils

Examples of quilts designed by using explorations you’ll learning the class:

Conga Yoga
Pretty in Pink
High Rise
Pointless
Wild Wiggle
Rocky Mountain Meadow
Dylan’s Wreath
Passing the Torch
Wiggle Room
Crane Dance
